Behind the Podcast

Thank you for joining me in this special space. I created Little One’s Meditations for my son—a collection of gentle bedtime stories and calming meditations that pair reassuring words with the comfort of my voice, helping him settle his mind and body each night, wherever he may be.

After his father and I divorced in 2021, our family found itself navigating a season of profound change. The pandemic had already brought uncertainty to so many lives, and the added transitions left all of us searching for steadiness, comfort, and connection.

During that time, I leaned deeply into yoga and meditation. After nearly a decade of personal practice, I completed a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) course and discovered even more about how these practices can support us through depression, anxiety, trauma, and the stresses of everyday life.

When my son struggled to sleep, we began spending our evenings together with soothing stories and meditations, gently calming our bodies and quieting our thoughts before bedtime.

In 2024, I asked him, “Would it help to hear my voice whenever you miss me?”—whether he was at his dad’s house or traveling with family. His enthusiastic yes became the spark for this podcast. Drawing on my previous podcasting experience, I began writing short stories starring the animals he loves most, all chosen by him.

That simple idea grew into Little One’s Meditations. I hope to continue creating new episodes for my son and for any child who could use a peaceful moment before sleep. As the project evolves, I am also developing these stories into children’s books, giving parents and guardians another way to share their own voices and help the children they love feel safe, connected, and ready to rest.

Penguin’s Wish, the first book inspired by the podcast, is planned for publication in late fall 2026.
