Finding Peace

There has been nothing quiet or gentle about the life I’ve lived.
Maybe there were moments — small ones — that I didn’t recognize for what they were at the time.
Moments with my children, laughing and playing games together.
Moments in nature with my husband, holding hands every chance we get.
Moments when the dogs settle in for a calm evening on the couch.
Rainy days with a glass of wine.
Sunny days with a good book.
Starry nights and hooting owls while I look up at the tall trees surrounding my home.
I am, somehow, both very lucky and quite unlucky.
My life has been shaped by grief — the kind that leaves marks on the mind, the heart, and the body. I don’t want to get into the details.
That’s not what this space is for.
I’m here to find peace, and to discover what that word means in my life now.
Peace.
As I step into a new decade, I’m realizing I get to define it for myself — what peace looks like, how it feels, and how it interacts with the way I spend my time.
Mountaintop Books is part of that definition. A quieter place. A gentler place. A place where I can share only what feels true and peaceful, and nothing more.
Welcome.
